It doesn't show up in the Fonts list if it's not in the Fonts folder of InDesign CS6, and even then, when it is in the fonts folder, only Helvetica is listed, despite the following derivatives being available: Helvetica Oblique Helvetica Bold Helvetica Bold Oblique Helvetica Light Helvetica Light Oblique Helvetica Upgrade to InDesign CS2. Upgrade to InDesign CS2 and then copy the font into the InDesign Fonts … Very newbie question, sorry in advance if it comes out to be a simple answer, but my Helvetica font isn't showing up. This is my code: @import "..\fonts\Helvetica"; @import "..\fonts\Neue Helvetica"; body { background: #E1E1E1; font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, serif; } It always shows up as Arial! I don't have Helvetica Neue installed on my 2007-10-25 Clearly, Helvetica is not a great typeface for body text. In fact, with its closed aperture (closed letterforms), it’s quite a horrendous choice for body text. Even Arial performs better both in terms of legibility and readability (due to greater differentiation between letters, and slightly more open letterforms), but there are many better sans-serif typefaces to choose from for body text. If the font is not showing up at all then copying the fonts directly to application directly can solve this issue.

First to check to make sure that it’s not really included in a style or in [Basic Paragraph]. If not, it’s what I call a “phantom font,” perhaps used earlier in the document. Try saving it as an INX (InDesign Exchange) document, and reopening it. I find that that often gets rid of phantom fonts.
Install the missing fonts (see "Installing fonts" in InDesign or … The "helvetica.php" file in the TCPDF fonts directory is not a copy of the Helvetica font. The file is only a description of the font as described here .

To do that, select the text frame, choose Object > Text Frame Options (or press Cmd/Ctrl-B) and turn on the Ignore Text Wrap checkbox. I have upgraded from Mac OS X El Capitan to Sierra last month, and InDesign works well, generally. CS6 is a bit slow but does load, CC 2015 loads but with PDAppFlex on opening. I have InDesign CS6 and InDesign CC 2015 installed - and they work OK. However, neither will recognize the Mac OS X system Helvetica font, and I don't know why.

And now the Helvetica font is available in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
If you have a small screen you might want to change InDesign's preferences so that the grid will appear when you're looking at the whole page. Helvetica is a completely free font that you can use in your graphic designs. There is no need for any license, signup, or regurgitation to use this font for your personal use. However, if you would like to use it for commercial purposes then you must have to buy it or contact the author for permissions. Alternatively, you can tell InDesign that this particular text frame (the one you want to put over the image/background) should not be affected by text wrap. To do that, select the text frame, choose Object > Text Frame Options (or press Cmd/Ctrl-B) and turn on the Ignore Text Wrap checkbox.

Where did they go in CS6? I don't see them as I drag text boxes. It was not only one of the most popular fonts in the 20 th century, but remains that to this day. Many fonts come close to what Helvetica offers, but none have been quite able to trump it in terms of popularity. There are, however, many fonts similar to Helvetica, and we have gathered some of the best on this list. Fonts that are not necessarily included in PDF files.
